OUR COMMITMENT

Imrooz has a strong value system and gives high priority to human values and contribution towards society. As part of its business social responsibility, Imrooz has pledged to support and work with organizations that support education at all levels. Moreover, as per the ARF Business Constitution, owners are required to save money from their earnings, and give to society a certain percentage each year without the objective of a reward or recognition of any kind. It is in this spirit that Imrooz is supporting the following two causes.

The Citizens Foundation

Imrooz social responsibility drives its passion from the belief that real progress is achieved through investing in people. It is from this philosophy, that MrAteed Riaz (hyperlinked to his brief bio), together with a like-minded group of people set up The Citizens Foundation (TCF). TCF is a professionally managed, non-profit organization, started in 1995 with a view to remove barriers of class and privilege and to make the citizens of Pakistan agents of positive change. Today, TCF is one of Pakistan’s leading organizations in the field of formal education. As of 2015, TCF has established 1060 purpose-built school units nationwide with an enrollment of 165,000 students. TCF encourages female enrollment and strives to maintain a 50% female ratio at most of its campuses. TCF has a full female faculty of 8,900 members. TCF also has a dedicated Teacher Training Center in Karachi and Mansehra for the ongoing training of its faculty and provides logistical support to all its teachers.

The Collective Organization for Music
(RIGHTS) in Pakistan - COMP

In 2011, Imrooz, under the Pakistan Copyright Ordinance 1962, and in collaboration with the Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan (IPO-PK) and the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC) setup the Collective Organization for Music Rights in Pakistan. COMP is envisaged to be an agent of change in society to increase awareness about the rights of performing artists. COMP’smain area of focus is on collection of royalties from the users of music (radio stations, TV stations, business establishments etc.) and its distribution amongst composers, writers and performers.
